Midi-Pyrenees Expansion - Strategic Involvement in the Dynamics of the Competitiveness Clusters

The organization of industrial sectors such as aeronautics and space, support for business networks, the densification of links between industries, training and research have been the basics of our agency’s missions for many years.

For this reason, Midi-Pyrenees Expansion naturally joined Jean-Marc Thomas, the project leader of AerospaceValley, in the creation of the Aeronautics , Space and Embedded Systems competitiveness cluster .

From candidacy…

From October 2004 to February 2005, our teams committed themselves to elaborating, drafting, and finalizing the application for candidacy, submitted on February 28, 2005 to the Regional Préfet with a dual goal:

- To involve the entire territory of the Midi-Pyrenees region
- To associate SMEs with this process

…to certification on July 12, 2005, and implementation

of AerospaceValley designated as a “world competitiveness cluster,” Midi-Pyrenees Expansion offered its expertise to serve the cluster in helping to define its organization and missions. Today, Midi-Pyrenees Expansion carries out actions to attract investors, and is involved in part of the economic watch and communications tasks of the cluster.

“Midi-Pyrenees Expansion... has been - and remains - a key player in the constitution of the cluster on behalf of the Midi-Pyrenees Region. …This deep commitment will continue in 2006, thanks to the signature of an agreement between Aerospace Valley and Midi-Pyrenees Expansion.”

Jean-Marc Thomas, President of Aerospace Valley, and Chief Executive of Airbus France
